If you are going to have a garage – especially a full log one, you should really consider using the space above it. We finished the bonus room over the garage and it added almost 500 Sq. Ft. of living space to our home. Matching gable dormers help to balance out the look on the exterior, while giving us some additional headroom and also allows natural sunlight into the room as well.
The REAL™ log porch package can easily be turned into an outstanding 3-season porch. Just add windows.
Most log porches, per plan, are provided with pre-cut log rafters on 32″ centers including fasteners for the connections. All porches include pre-cut log porch plate (matching the log style) to support porch rafters and full log porch posts to support the log plates.
Granite countertops, rustic cherry cabinets, black appliances and rock walls all look better against a backdrop of log walls.
You’ll note full log floor joists throughout our model home. Pre-cut round log joists are standard (per plan) in your REAL LOG HOMES® package. This includes pre-notched wall logs for assembly into the log wall and fasteners for the connections. Optional pre-cut 4X or 6X timbers are available for joists.
The living room features a soaring cathedral ceiling, accented with full log rafters and a beautiful floor-to-ceiling custom stone fireplace that, of course, only looks better in a Real™ Log Home.
An open great room with full log rafters makes for a great view. The gable end wall features a mixture of Andersen® custom fixed glazing & patio doors to take full advantage of the view overlooking the lake. Full log rafters add to the authentic log home look. They’re part of a standard REAL LOG HOMES® package, per plan.
